Tenor Viñas Contest

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS IN THE WORLD OF OPERA, ORATORIO AND THE LIED, IN WHICH YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD PARTICIPATE EVERY YEAR.

The Francesc Viñas Private Foundation is a non-profit entity that organizes the Tenor Viñas International Contest in Barcelona. The competition was created in 1963 in memory of the tenor Francesc Viñas, considered the best Spanish performer of Wagner’s operas.


OBJECTIVES

The objective of the Tenor Viñas Contest has always been to discover and promote new voices in the field of lyrical singing. Since its first edition, the competition has received the support of Catalan society and, especially, of the Gran Teatre del Liceu. With the support of the Puig Foundation, the competition has become international.

COMMITMENT

YOUNG TALENT
Collaboration with the youth program of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, providing stage and vocal training for young singers who have won one of the competition’s prices but who need experience before they can debut on stage.

TRAINING
Vocal training of young singers with international teachers. Possibility of studying with famous active or retired singers who provide the young singers with the technical means necessary to project their voices correctly.
